On June 7th and 8th, 2018 the IX International Conference on Ophthalmology "East-West" will be held in Ufa. Traditionally, specialists from Europe, Asia, USA and, of course, numerous regions of Russia will gather to participate in the forum of ophthalmologists, known far beyond the borders of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Russian Federation.
Ufa will once again meet delegations of ophthalmologists, both eminent and young, from leading specialized research institutes, ophthalmological clinics and medical universities from various cities of Russia. Leading ophthalmologists from near and far abroad will come to the forthcoming forum to share their knowledge and experience.
The purpose of the conference is to train ophthalmologists, exchange practical experience and, most importantly, get acquainted with the most modern methods of treating eye diseases, including the innovations of the Ufa Eye Research Institute, and advanced medical technologies, equipment and scientific literature.
The scientific program of the conference will traditionally consist of sessions devoted to various problems of eye diseases, during which ophthalmologists will have the opportunity to open a discussion and reflect on the most important and acute issues of clinical practice. Along with the plenary sessions, satellite symposia will be held, where various aspects of diagnosis and treatment of one or another ophthalmopathology will be covered. In total, the program of the conference includes more than 100 reports by ophthalmologists, the best of which will receive diplomas.
It is planned to hold a video session with presentation and analysis of interesting clinical cases from the practice of ophthalmic surgeons from Russia and abroad.
"Live Surgery" - the pearl of the forum, as usual in form of operations for demonstration, will be broadcasted from the operating rooms of the Ufa Eye Research Institute  performed by leading Russian and Ufa surgeons.

For the second time, it is planned to conduct short-term training courses for beginner ophthalmic surgeons on the Wetlab system as part of the conference, which were first launched in 2017 with great success.
As in the previous forum, a section of young scientists will be organized to demonstrate the results of experimental and clinical scientific research of young specialists, which aroused great interest in 2017.
Ophthalmologists who cannot attend the conference will have the opportunity to participate online via the Internet by going to the website of the International Conference "East-West".
In the annual scientific and practical journal "Point of View. East-West ", the main results of scientific and practical research of Russian and foreign ophthalmologists will be presented.
Traditionally, leading domestic and foreign companies will take place in a specialized exhibition of medical equipment and products during the event.
The rich scientific program of the conference "East-West", the representative composition of Russian and international participants - all this will leave an unforgettable impression for the guests of Ufa.

The conference is held according to the plan of the Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
